Sergey Rozhin "SEA WITHIN"personal exhibition
→ Video recording→ Tiser→ PhotosThe installation "The Sea Within" is a space for psychological immersion into the human inner world.
The work presents an image of the sea crafted from thin construction film that billows in the air, rustles, and reflects light, creating the sensation of a living, breathing entity.
Here, the sea serves as a metaphor for psychic depth. It symbolizes the layers of human emotions, subconscious desires, fears, and memories that we rarely touch.
Each movement of the film becomes the rhythm of internal breathing, while its rustle serves as a reminder that our psychic space lives its own life, independent of the external world.
The philosophical aspect of the work lies in the realization that every individual’s inner sea is infinite and unique.
We often seek complex or expensive ways to feel whole and happy, yet this work demonstrates that the depth of an experience does not depend on the richness of form or the cost of materials.
Simple film, moving air, light, and sound create an accessible experience where one can hear their own emotions, find harmony, or confront inner anxieties.
The psychological function of the installation is to facilitate self-reflection and internal dialogue.
The viewer finds themselves in a state between observation and immersion, control and letting go, fear and freedom.
This space allows one to experience the state of being present in the "here and now."
"The Sea Within" is an invitation to a personal philosophical meditation: on the boundlessness of our inner space, the independence of true experience from material surroundings, and the ability of everyone to discover and embrace their own sea simply by observing.
